Legacy Funding

We encourage people to leave a legacy in their will to improve the outcomes for disabled children and young adults. I have developed four legacy plans see PDF 1# Playgrounds children need to play. 2# Educate and start looking at career options from a young age for a disabled child.

Children with Disability New Zealand has a vision of creating a better world for disabled children, starting in New Zealand with playgrounds, but we won't stop there. We promote acceptance and normality.

June 19, 2023, on Fair Go TV1, there was a story about the lack of play areas that cater to disabled children. Playgrounds are a real issue, and our charity, Children with Disability NZ, is well on its way to addressing the imbalance. We have part-funded a wheelchair swing that is now well-used in Waipu Northland.

Our charity is now part-financing a wheelchair seesaw for Raumanga Park, Whangarei. We need support; our website is an excellent resource for others, and we want councils across New Zealand to act.

Our council, Whangarei District Council, has been excellent to work with and very receptive to ideas. We have accessible features, including a wheelchair-accessible trampoline, the same as that featured on Fair Go, a raised sandpit, lowered instruments, swing seats, and more, all at Pohe Island. We got all this because we asked the Whangarei District Council for it.

Look at our website; there is a well-written story about playground accessibility for disabled people: https://www.childrenwithdisability.co.nz/childrens-playgrounds/.

This is not about just playgrounds; it's about possibilities. Children with Disability New Zealand needs sponsors so we can grow.

How Does It All Work?

We can offer exposure online, on Facebook, on printed materials, and much more. We are about improving outcomes for disabled children and consider this to be of high importance. Our sponsors would also be seen supporting a very important cause. If you would like to become a sponsor please email us at:  childrenwithdisabilitynz@gmail.com
